On the way to the main forest--a park about an hour outside of Santa Cruz--, a construction delay provided 20 minutes of Everdeen-style exploration of acres of untouched forest.

It was a bit of a downer to see some modern construction amidst the trees in the main forest. When we pulled over to the 'untouched forest', there were no footprints of man.
