philadelphia [part 3]

Today I bring you: Philadelphia.

My Uncle lives in University City, which is, while outside of the main city, still a very 'happening' place.

The first night, we met up with relatives and spent a good hour in Barnes & Noble. Beforehand we went to a delicious Chinese restaurant with terrible lighting. Pictured above is The Hobbit.

Pretty moon.

I love walking around UniCity, with the ever-present skyscrapers in the background. I hadn't been here since Summer, so it was particularly crowded with college students. Cosi had a line, Gelato-place had a line...there were people everywhere!

We got tickets to the [Rocky] Art Museum, for there was a Van Gogh exhibit on display. Since I've been to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, this exhibit was particularly underwhelming due to its small selection of art. And the whole atmosphere was just...bad.

I absolutely loved the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. I easily could have spent all day there, but I only had an hour due to bad timing. :[

Feels like foreeevvver ago. Just less than two months, actually, so...

My next adventure is in CALIFORNIA! Last year I traveled across Europe...so this summer is going to be a slight demotion. :P

Part Deux

Today I give you our last days in Pittsburgh.

Look, it's sunny!

Oh god. Mineo's is this amazing little pizza parlor in Pittsburgh that has won countless awards for their delicious pizza. Delicious being a fact, not an opinion.

Look at that crust.

The next morning, we ate breakfast at Pamela's Diner. Pam's got a lot of  buzz back in 2008 when Obama ate there, and even more when, in 2009, he had them come to the White House to cook some hotcakes. If I'm honest, I'm not that big of a fan of their pancakes.

These are the last of the Pittsburgh photographs I'm willing to narrate. As always, you can check my Flickr for more photographs. Stay tuned for part 3, where we'll visit Philadelphia! Oolala.

au printemps: part 1

Prepare for a three good ole' photography posts. Here we have Pittsburgh. Specifically, the first two days we were there.

Les tulips. I definitely had a flashback to John Green and Amsterdam.

The most wonderful cafe--ever! It's right down the street from Nana's, and is the quaintest [is that a word?] cafe to occupy the streets of Pittsburgh. I had heard that they had some of the best hot cocoa and can now confirm this.

To the park, we go!

The most adorable puppy ever. We were just sitting on a bench and this pug just jumped onto me. I managed to snap one photograph and two seconds of out-of-focus footage.

Margate of the Past

These photos are from Summer 2011. My first every Youtube video (on a different, now deleted account) contained footage from that trip. Every year, family friends lend their house to us for a few days during the Summer.

Ah, Margate beach house. Quaint x 100

Une [outdoor] douche.

Morning walks on the beach. Always pleasant, especially when the weather is nice. Which it always is.

You can see the sea water rushing to my footprint.

These photos were all taken on a Coolplix--a point and shoot--, but turned out great. The quality of my old camera was just fantastic, although I don't remember the exact name.

Ocean City, at night. Just a few minutes (20) away from Margate, this is the touristy area. There's a boardwalk, tons of rental beach houses, and a mini amusement park.
